The San Juan Alumni Association Announces Their 2009 List of San Juan-Class of 2009 Scholarship Recipients
The San Juan Alumni Association was formed in 1980 as a social group and to support their Alma Mater, San Juan High School. With the scholarships that were awarded in 2009 of $16,500, the total scholarships awarded to San Juan High School students is $199,050. The San Juan Alumni Association is made up of Alumni of San Juan High School and Past/Present San Juan Faculty. Three General Meetings a year are held to socialize and discuss upcoming San Juan Events and Reunions. Three SJAA Newsletters are also sent to all dues paying members. The Scholarship Winners for 2009 are:
- Stephen Stowe, Robert Cornwell Scholarship in the amount of $3,000.
- Anahita Yazdi , Robert Cornwell Scholarship in the amount of $3,000
- Jamie Ball, $1500 Scholarship given in memory of Nick Tomich, class of 1929
- Angela Jou-Fang, $1,500 Scholarship given in memory of the Tom Pendergast, former teacher.
- Neda Namiranian, $1,500 Scholarship given in memory of Ken Pendergast, class of 1979
- Emily Reed, $1,500 Scholarship given in honor of Paul Krumhaus, former teacher
- Lina Reznik, $1,500 Scholarship given in honor of Barbara Morarity-Van Dyke, class of 1977
- Paige Sutton, $1,500 Scholarship given in honor of Bob Nielsen, class of 1958 and former teacher
- Qudsia Wahab, $1,500 Scholarship given in honor of Principal Ward Andrus
