SAN JOSE, CA (MPG) - Nick the Greek, a Northern California-based chain serving up authentic Greek street food, has proudly opened its 70th restaurant! The new location in Fair Oaks, California, is operated by experienced multi-unit franchisee Nicholas Taptelis, who has partnered with the brand since 2019 and operates six additional Nick the Greek locations in Northern California and Texas. The new Fair Oaks restaurant grows the brand’s presence in the greater Sacramento area, which now has five locations, and expands Nick the Greek’s footprint throughout California. The 70-store milestone comes as Nick the Greek is on pace to open 25 more restaurants this year, approaching 100 locations systemwide by the end of 2024.

“It’s an honor to open Nick the Greek’s 70th location in Fair Oaks, and as the company celebrates an impressive milestone, I am celebrating my ongoing partnership with a growing brand that local communities love and rally behind,” said Taptelis. “Our Fair Oaks restaurant will deliver high-quality and authentic Greek street food that leaves our guests coming back for more, and we look forward to being an active and involved part of the greater Sacramento community for many years to come.”

Established in 2014 by cousins Big Nick, Little Nick, and Baby Nick Tsigaris — all named after their grandfather per Greek tradition — Nick the Greek satisfies the desire for healthy, flavorful and authentic Greek cuisine in a fast casual environment without compromising quality. Drawing from two generations of restaurant entrepreneurship and countless visits to Greece, the street food-inspired menu boasts flavorful gyro meats cooked in-house on a traditional vertical rotisserie, charbroiled souvlaki skewers, zesty sauces, fresh vegetables and authentic Greek treats including baklava and loukoumades. In meeting the high demand for Greek street food, Nick the Greek has carved out a niche for itself in the ultra-competitive fast casual space – a differentiator that has proven to be critical to the brand’s rapid growth.

Celebrating a decade in business in 2024, Nick the Greek has greatly accelerated expansion efforts over the last three years, adding dozens of new locations and increasing its store count by nearly 100 percent. Today, guests can find Nick the Greek restaurants throughout seven states, including California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Utah, and the chain is on pace to surpass 90 restaurants before year’s end. By strategically establishing locations in high-visibility downtown metro areas, Nick the Greek has reached large audiences and steadily developed a diverse and devoted fan base. The brand has identified key markets throughout the Western U.S. and is seeking franchise partners interested in expanding their portfolios with a progressive fast casual brand on the rise.

“We’re in a period of high-volume, strategic expansion for Nick the Greek — as evidenced by the dramatic increase in locations since 2020 — and our growth continues to be fueled by talented development professionals who ink deals in new and existing markets and passionately field interest from prospective franchisees seeking portfolio diversification with a unique and exciting concept,” said Komiel Mohsen, chief operating officer of Nick the Greek. “As we recognize this 70-store achievement, set our sights on our next milestone, and continue to introduce the brand to new consumers across the U.S., we are extremely proud to have cemented our reputation in every community we serve as the go-to destination for authentic Greek street food.”

The new Fair Oaks restaurant is located at 5355 Sunrise Blvd. and can be reached via phone at (916) 671-3378. The Fair Oaks Nick the Greek is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. To learn more about Nick the Greek’s franchise program, or to find your nearest location, visit www.nickthegreek.com
