Summer Fun in Fair Oaks
Fair Oaks, CA (MPG) - Summer is in full swing and so is the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce!
Our 68th Annual Fair Oaks Fiesta had a record turnout to enjoy all of the festivities in Fair Oaks Village including the crowning of the new Miss Fair Oaks, Helen Burch. Ms. Burch was crowned by her predecessor, Ashley Gaston who gave a spirited speech on how being Miss Fair Oaks was a life-changing experience.
The 24th Annual A Taste of Fair Oaks event at North Ridge Country Club was a huge hit. Attendees and vendors are still talking about it! A portion of the proceeds was awarded to local non-profit organization, Mercey Springs for the work it does to support other local non-profits in need.
We have three Honorary Mayor Candidates this year, all raising funds for great local causes. Cliff Leiker, for Never A Victim, Louis McNerney for Northridge Elementary School and Catrayel Wood for Habitat for Humanity. This is purely a fundraising race and the candidate who raises the most money by Sept. 12th, will be “sashed” on Sept. 14th by our current Honorary Mayor, Rachel Griffith! Our current Jr. Honorary Mayor, Josh Gumacal will “sash” his replacement, too. Since its inception in 1979, this program has raised over $360,000 for our community!
Summer is not over yet! The Fair Oaks Concerts in the Park continue every Thursday through August 24th, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and let us do the cooking!
Before you know it, it will be Christmas in the Village on December 2nd! Looking for volunteer opportunities? We welcome your help. Please visit www.fairoakschamber.com for all the details about upcoming events, sponsorship opportunities and more!
See you in Fair Oaks!
