ORANGEVALE, CA (MPG) - The Orangevale History Project is dedicated to collecting and preserving Orangevale’s rich and colorful past. Newly founded and starting from the ground up, we are collecting, cataloging, preserving and presenting the history of Orangevale in both print, media and video interview forms. We now have a full-functioning board with elected officers and other appointed positions, have obtained a bank account, and applied for 501c(3) nonprofit status. We have a YouTube Channel, Facebook page, and a website is being developed. We meet monthly on the first Wednesday of each month at the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce Office. Our programs start at 6:30pm and are usually a 1/2 hour in length followed by a short meeting identifying our history progress and how the community can help. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
The first community structure build in Orange Vale* was the schoolhouse in 1890. Come and hear about the early days and where the little schoolhouse is now. The next meeting of the Orangevale History Project will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 6:30pm - Orangevale Chamber of Commerce Office, 8897 Greenback Lane, at Hazel Ave on the corner. We look forward to seeing you!
*When it was a colony in the early days, it was two words - Orange Vale.
