FAIR OAKS, CA (MPG) - Chickens are a big part of Fair Oaks history, so let’s get ready to celebrate them! It’s all happening on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 12-6 p.m. at Fair Oaks Park (11549 Fair Oaks Blvd). 

Join the Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District—along with other community organizations—for a fun-filled day of live music, food, and plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy! Festival highlights include:

Corn Hole Tournament sponsored by the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. Pre-register ($40 per team) to secure your spot! Bring your own partner and bags. Check-in starts at 12 p.m. Novice and competition teams are invited to participate. 

Cluck n’ Crow Spirit Contest sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Orangevale-Fair Oaks. Pre-registration is required (no sign-ups on event day), so start practicing! Must be 10 years or older to participate. 

GREAT Chicken Decorating Contest – Make your chicken the GREATEST in town! Two divisions are open for adults and children. Registration is $20 per entry and each entry will receive one wooden chicken to decorate.

Concerts in the Park - Aug. 25
Don’t miss the final summer concert on Aug. 25 featuring local headliner band “Wasted Space,” singing songs from the 60s and 70s. This event is free! Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. (You are welcome to bring food and drinks, but no glass containers will be allowed. Also, no dogs allowed.) Fair Oaks Park is located at 11549 Fair Oaks Blvd.

Comedy Under the Stars - Aug. 26
You only have one more opportunity to enjoy Comedy Under the Stars on Aug. 26 at Fair Oaks Park! Tickets are $15 per person (adults 18+ only) and must be pre-purchased! Food Truck Mania & Classic Car Show – Sept 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3
Everyone loves this free family-fun event. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s not too late! Event hours are 5-8 p.m. Pick your date and come on out!
