It’s been an exciting year for the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce (FOCC)!
The 45th Fair Oaks Honorary Mayor race brought in more than $62,700 for the community – the most ever raised since the program’s inception in 1978. Congratulations to State Farm agent Katie Yount, whose fundraising efforts earned her the prestigious title of the town’s new Honorary Mayor. Katie raised $32,172, which topped total dollars generated by two other candidates (Jen Rodriguez and Josh Hall) in a heated but exciting 3-month long campaign.
Just in time for the Holidays, the FOCC recently presented a check in the amount of $5,987.95 to the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank. The event took place in October at the chamber’s monthly luncheon. Josh Hall, executive director of the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation, was on-hand to accept the generous donation from Kimberley Pitillo, executive director of the FOCC. The donation represents a portion of the proceeds raised from this year’s annual Taste of Fair Oaks event held in May. The food bank is a long-time chamber member and will definitely benefit from the donation as they get ready to provide holiday meals to those in need within the community.
