SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Get ready to celebrate Mardi Gras in spud-tacular style! The iconic Big Idaho Potato Truck is rolling into the heart of Sacramento for the Broadway Festival Parade, adding extra fun to the festivities with the world-famous big Idaho potato. Experience the vibrant floats and energetic performances that capture the spirit of New Orleans!

What Is the Big Idaho Potato Truck?

The Big Idaho Potato Truck is a 72-foot-long flatbed trailer carrying a 28-foot long, 10-foot wide, and 11.5-foot tall, 4-ton Idaho potato. After being seen by hundreds of millions of Americans, the most frequently asked question is, “Is it real?” We’ll never tell...but if it is, the Big Idaho Potato would weigh 802 times more than the largest potato ever grown – 11 pounds, be the equivalent of 21,562 medium-size potatoes, make 20,217 servings of mashed potatoes, make close to 1 million French fries, take nearly 7,000 years to grow and take about 2 years to bake!

As part of the celebration, the Big Idaho Potato Truck’s charity, A Big Helping, will set up a Signature Board to support Krewe’s Kids – giving back to the community while spreading Mardi Gras cheer. Live interviews with the Tater Team are available before or after the parade for a behind-the-scenes look at this massive spud on wheels.
