SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is reminding riders that its new mobile ticketing app, Transit Connect, is now available and will fully replace the ZipPass app effective Monday, June 15. Transit Connect offers riders a smarter, simpler, and more secure way to purchase, store and activate fare products for SacRT.

To support riders who still have active ZipPass tickets, SacRT is extending the ZipPass retirement date. Riders may continue using ZipPass to redeem any remaining active passes through Monday, June 15. After June 15, ZipPass will be fully retired and no longer available. Riders are encouraged to download Transit Connect now to ensure a smooth transition.

“Transit Connect represents the next generation of fare payment technology for our region,” said SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li. “By extending the ZipPass end date, we are giving riders ample time to use their existing passes while making the transition to a modern, convenient and integrated system. This upgrade will significantly improve the customer experience and streamline travel across multiple transit providers.”

More Enhancements Coming This Fall
