SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – Sacramento Life Center (SLC) is proud to announce it has received a generous grant from the Jerome and Wanda Hart Foundation to support the implementation of a new Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, an investment that will significantly enhance the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to women and families across the Sacramento region.
The new EHR system will modernize Sacramento Life Center’s patient data management, allowing for more efficient, coordinated and secure care. This upgrade will strengthen the organization’s medical services, improve patient tracking and outcomes and support continued growth in response to increasing community need.
Founded in 1972, Sacramento Life Center provides free medical care and comprehensive support services to low-income women, teens, and families facing unplanned or unsupported pregnancies. Through its licensed clinic and mobile services, the organization offers pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, maternal healthcare, Medi-Cal enrollment assistance, parenting education and access to essential baby supplies.
“With the growing demand for our services, investing in a modern EHR system is critical to ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our patients with excellence and efficiency,” said Marie Leatherby, executive director of Sacramento Life Center. “We are incredibly grateful to the Jerome and Wanda Hart Foundation for supporting this important step forward in strengthening our care delivery.”
In recent years, Sacramento Life Center has seen a significant increase in patient volume due to rising costs of living, increased immigration and expanded outreach efforts. The new system will enable staff and medical providers – including OB/GYNs, nurses and patient advocates – to better coordinate care, streamline services and ensure every patient receives timely and personalized support.
