FAIR OAKS, CA (MPG) – Get your dancing shoes on! San Francisco based band, Dirty Cello is performing in Fair Oaks this August. Dirty Cello’s vibrant sound revolves around the unique blend of blues, rock, americana and bluegrass influence with their classically trained sound.
Dirty Cello was formed 15 years ago by lead lively crossover cellist, Rebecca Roudman, described as a “classical cellist gone wrong” backed up by a top-notch rhythm section. After years of studying the classical symphony world in college they decided to reinvent their sound. This resulted in an electrifying merge of their classically trained sound with a fun spin on blues, rock and americana.
Leader of the band, Rebecca Roudman, explains how although they don’t currently make classical music, their technical skills from college make it possible to perform songs by various renowned blues or rock artists.
“There is no classical music in what I do now, but technical skills make it possible to perform, for example a Jimi Hendrix song,” Roudman said.
Dirty Cello currently performs all over the work from Iceland to Italy ensuring the audience wherever they are that they are having a memorable night with live music getting their hearts pounding and toes tapping to their beat.
UK-based publication, Aldora Magazine, described Dirty Cello’s combination of genres as “an utterly irresistible sonic cocktail, converting listeners in their droves, a fanbase that now has dedicated cult followings all around the world.”
The show in Fair Oaks will open with soulful vocalist Ginger Molasses, setting the stage with powerful gritty vocals and intriguing storytelling for Dirty Cello’s high-energy performance to follow.
Rebecca Roudman explains how Dirty Cello is looking forward to their Fair Oaks show and inviting new listeners to discover their genre-bending sound.
“We’re fun and don’t take ourselves too seriously,” Roudman said. “This is a new summer concert series, and every seat is great and comfortable. Fair Oaks has a beautiful outdoor venue; it is going to be a great night of powerful women singers and a lot of fun.”
The concert will be held at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in the Fair Oaks Performing Arts Center located at 7991 California Ave. at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 22. The venue hosts 480 seats outside in an open-air amphitheater where your seats will be reserved and ready for you.
Tickets are on sale now starting at $20 to $24 per person. You can purchase tickets online at https://www.fairoaksarts.org/.
Parking is limited at Fair Oaks Village as there is not a designated parking lot for the venue so attendees are encouraged to prepare to arrive early and park further away to walk in.
